Kendall County Commissioner, Precinct 1
Christina Bergmann Announces Bid for Re-election:
Commissioner Christina Bergmann has formally announced her intention to seek re-election for the Kendall County Precinct 1 Commissioner position in the March 2020 Republican primary. Christina has served the City of Boerne and Kendall County in a variety of leadership positions over the last 27 years.
Christina’s public service record includes two terms as a Boerne councilmember for District 5 as well as her service on the City of Boerne’s Historic Landmark Commission. Additionally, Christina continues to serve as a firefighter with the Boerne Volunteer Fire Department; a position she has held for over 27 years. Notably, Christina was the first woman to join the ranks of the B.V.F.D. Also of note, Christina serves as the sole representative for Kendall County on the Transportation Policy Board for the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization; only the 3rd representative of Kendall County to do so and Kendall County’s first female representative. Along with her civic duties, Christina serves as a board member for the Cibolo Preserve Board and has served as treasurer for the Kendall County Republican Women.
Christina’s background, education, and experience have placed her in a position to serve as a community leader. Christina is a 1999 graduate of Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University) with a major in Business Management; an education she put to use in the operation of her family’s long-time Boerne Main Street fixture, Bergmann Lumber. She also holds more than a dozen firefighting and environmental clean-up certifications.
“As a life-long resident of Boerne, I have seen a lot of change”, said Bergmann. “I want to do my best to preserve our history but plan for our future too. Ensuring that our roadways and public safety needs can meet the demands of our growth is critical. But equally important is maintaining our heritage and quality of life. Finding the right balance will be my continued focus.”
Christina is married to Michael Peese, owner of MAP Water Well Service and Drilling. They have been married for over 14 years and have two children, their daughter Ember, who entered kindergarten this year and their son Kastin, who is four years old.
